Keith John Adams
PIP
( HHBTM )
2006
"Have you ever been a cuckold? Have you ever been
a cheat?"
I owe PIP a healthy apology. You sat - with others - in a stack
for far too long. You, PIP, are that
reason I don't sleep very well at night. "You
know what, brain? That PIP cd could be THE cd I have
been waiting to hear all of my lifetime. What if I die tonight never
having heard Keith
John Adams' supreme album?"
See where I'm going with this? An album that should arrive overwhelmingly
scented of a child's grape cold medicine,
PIP is just as much a pleasure to listen to as the time making
it was - I'm sure. Mister John Adams, KJA to those others, sounds as
if he has locked himself in a closet of miniature musical mechanisms
(toy piano, oddly tuned guitars) and crafted one of the better "pop"
albums the future side of Pet Sounds has ever heard.
Pet
Sounds? YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR WITS, SCTAS KALEB!!
Well,
sure, but I do know that when I wake 2 days in a row with a song (two
actually: "Ever Been You?" and "Keep An Eye") soaring
sugarly through my head - something special is going on. That something
special is PIP, and those not investigating can kindly remove
me from your Myspace™
top 8 - immediate-like. Additionally, Britt Daniels solo fans should
listen
now (see: "Ever Been You", "Memory"). [ I know
it stinks in here - PIP is the shit ].
