"the
accident that lead me to the world"
s/t
(Nobody's
Favorite Records) 2006
Quite
the memorable & delicate set of songs "the
accident that led me to the world" contains -
male and female voices (notably NFR's Mark
Mandeville & Raianne
Richards) taking care while enveloping themselves around a vintage
folk combination of banjo, cello, acoustic guitar and more (thanks
to the multi-talented Zack Ciras).
"The
wind blew my whole house down / I rode the scattered wood out to
sea" reads the opening of the title track as banjo and
upright bass guide the listener though a quite remarkable tale of
survival ("I used my clothes to build fires").
From
the same label that presented the 'sctas approved'
Jena Campaign, and always adored Jerry
Fels, anyone who followed that lead will find plenty here to
please the ears.. . this is the sound of lonely ghosts weeping tears
made of the saltiest sea.
